Breakthrough of single-quantum coherence is shown to occur after application of a double-quantum filter with the conventional four-step phase-cycling scheme. This single-quantum breakthrough is due to the intersequence stimulated echo which has been

An RF excitation technique with which one can improve the effective dynamic range of the receiver and reduce the interference between slices for 3D volume-selective multislice MRI is described. The basic idea of the technique is to use phase scrambli

A new surface gradient coil (SGC) consisting of three orthogonal channels and a planar form is described. This coil has been developed for high-resolution imaging which generally requires strong gradient fields. The SGC we have developed can produce

A novel system and method of light coupling analysis and calibration for the 4*4 detector module of the Columbia University spherical PET (positron emission tomography unit) is discussed, and its performance is evaluated. The new features of the syst

An interesting pulse sequence of 90°—τ-180°—2τ—180°—τ which leads to a signal suppression for the static samples is reported. With this sequence we have obtained static-sample signal suppression of the order of 10−4 to 10−6 and the

Recent advances in NMR microscopy are discussed with applications to the study of single cell development. Fundamental resolution limit due to molecular diffusion as well as experimental resolution limits arising from system bandwidth and poor signal
