We have demonstrated efficient spectral broadening of mid-infrared pulses by use of a GaAs crystal. The spectral bandwidths of the pulses at 5-µm wavelength increased from 540 nm to 2060 nm. The main advantages of this material are its large third-o

We achieved efficient spectral broadening for mid-IR pulses of few-microjoule energy. The spectral bandwidth of the femtosecond pulses at the center wavelength of 5000 nm increased from 540 nm to 2060 nm (from 220 to 910 cm(-1) in frequency) by nonli

Coherent spectral expansion of the mid-infrared femtosecond pulses is beneficial for monitoring and controlling molecular vibrational dynamics. We investigate the spectral broadening of mid-infrared pulses due to nonlinear optical effects in semicond

The pulses of 100-fs duration at 4800 nm were focused onto semiconductor materials of Si, Ge, and GaAs. Spectral broadening by a factor of >3 was observed with the input pulse energy of 3 micro-joule.

A sensitive and specific radioimmunoassay for antiarrhythmic peptide (AAP) has been developed, utilizing 3-(4-hydroxy, 5-[125I]iodophenyl)propionyl AAP and guinea pig anti-AAP serum. Synthetic AAP was used as a standard and the polyethylene glycol me
