Abstract Electroadhesive forces are crucial in various applications, including grasping devices, electro-sticky boards, electrostatic levitation, and climbing robots. However, the design of electroadhesive devices relies on speculative or empirical e

We investigate the mechanical degradation of patterned Si based on large deformation theory and mixed-mode failure. Mode I debonding at the center of Si is found to suddenly increase and lead to crack initiation during the early stages of lithiation.

A fracture of the active particle such as silicon anode results in a potential degradation in lithium-ion batteries with charge/discharge cycle. The massive volume expansion during the lithiation generates large stress which induces the cracking on i

Long aligned arrays of crystalline strontium titanate (SrTiO3) nanostructures were synthesized by using simple low-temperature processes that incorporate strontium into titanium oxides. Tubular nanostructures are often confine energy carriers that re

Thermal properties of one dimensional nanostructures are of interest for thermoelectric energy conversion. Thermoelectric efficiency is related to non dimensional thermoelectric figure of merit, ZT = (S^2 σT)/k where S, σ, k are the Seebeck coeffic
