We present for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, a theoretical and experimental analysis of the time-bandwidth product (TBP) of noise-like pulses (NLPs) within the mode-locked regions of an erbium-doped figure-eight fiber laser (EDFEFL).

The fabrication of a new-type of Silicon nanoparticles (Si-n/p) doped silica fiber is reported. The method is entirely based on the MCVD process, with no solution-doping technique being required. The TEM, EPMA, EDX, and electron diffraction analyses

An efficient method to fabricate transparent glass ceramic fibers containing in-situ grown Yb 3+ doped oxide nano-particles based on yttria–alumino–silicate glass is presented. These large-mode area Yb 3+ doped fibers having a core diameter aroun

In this paper, we propose and demonstrate a versatile and simple single-, dual- and three-wavelength switchable ytterbium-doped fiber laser using the intracavity induced-loss generated by a mechanically induced long-period grating (MLPFG) in a holey

We report the use of nonlinear dynamics of an erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) at pump modulation, namely the period-1 pulsed regime, for intra-cavity loss sensing and demonstrate noticeable sensitivity enhancement of an EDFL-based sensor, provided by

This article presents a theoretical study of the dispersion properties of the asymmetrically apodized fiber Bragg gratings. It is shown that the dispersive behavior of these gratings may be changed from normal to anomalous, depending on the apodizati

In this paper we present an actively switched fiber laser with an all-fiber long-period grating-based interferometer used as an intra-cavity loss modulator. The modulator consists of two equal long-period gratings written sequentially in the same pie
