Differential scanning calorimetry was used to study phase transitions (PT) in the perovskite BaCeO3. It is shown that its phase state is determined by a second-order λ transition at Ttr=520–540 K and a first-order δ transition at Ttr=600–670 K.

The conductivity and magnetoresistance in a magnetic field of 0.5 T were studied for the first time in fused samples of a La0.67Ca0.33MnO3−α composition with variable oxygen nonstoichiometry (0.3≥α≥0) modified by exposure to H2, H2O vapor, an

Infrared photoluminescence (PL) has been studied in Ho-doped single-crystal silicon structures fabricated by solid-phase epitaxy and in crystalline holmium oxide in the temperature range from 4.2 to 300 K. PL arises from the internal 4f-shell transit

A study has been made of the glass-forming ability, structure, and superconducting properties of Bi2.2Sr1.8Ca1.05Cu2.15LixOy and Bi2.2Sr1.8Ca1.05Cu2.15−x LixOy (x=0;0.3;0.5;0.7). The compounds were melted by rf at T=1300–1500 °C. Rapid quenching

The action of water vapor on nominally pure BaCeO3 perovskite at 850 K causes hydrogen to be incorporated into the lattice and a thermally metastable state to form. The lattice symmetry changes as a result of an orthorhombic-pseudocubic transition wh
