We report on the gas-phase reaction of Cl with CH 3 CD 2 CH 3 and CD 3 CH 2 CD 3 to form HCl or DCl. Cl atoms are generated by the 351-nm photolysis of Cl 2 , and both the HCl and DCl products are detected via 2+1 multiphoton ionization at ∼240 nm.
