The use of a photonic network of coupled degenerate optical parametric oscillators for solving complex optimisation problems would require scalable integration capabilities. Here, the authors exploit χ (3) nonlinearity in SiN to demonstrate on-chip

Breather solitons can be found in both physical and biological nonlinear systems. Here, Yuet al. demonstrate this type of soliton in silicon and silicon nitride microresonators, which advances the understanding of soliton-based comb-generation in mic

We present an overview of the recent developments in nonlinear silicon photonics. There were significant advances in devices exploiting the $\chi^{(2)}$ and $\chi^{(3)}$ nonlinearities. Here, we discuss parametric amplification, wavelength conversion

The fabrication processes of silicon nitride photonic devices used in foundries require low temperature deposition, which typically leads to high propagation losses. Here, we show that propagation loss as low as 0.42 dB/cm can be achieved using found

Kerr soliton combs operate in the anomalous group-velocity dispersion regime through the excitation of dissipative solitons. The generated bandwidth is largely dependent on the cavity dispersion, with higher-order dispersion contributing to dispersiv

We demonstrate coherent combining of two Kerr combs operating in the normal group-velocity dispersion regime via on-chip synchronization. We achieve a nearly 2’ increase in the combined comb power while maintaining 26% conversion efficiency.
