We report on a diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:CYA laser. Average power as high as 1.5 W was obtained with pulse duration of 68 fs at central wavelength of 1040nm.

A fiber laser pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:GSO oscillator delivering 4-W, 249-fs pulses at the repetition rate of 92 MHz is demonstrated for the first time. The corresponding optical-to-optical efficiency is as high as 54%.

We realized a SESAM mode-locked Yb:GSO laser pumped by a fiber laser. 182-fs pulses centered at 1034 nm was generated at a repetition rate of 100.6 MHz. The average output power is 480 mW.

We present the recent development of diode-pumped all-solid-state ultrafast lasers based on novel ytterbium-doped laser materials. 33-fs pulses were obtained from a Yb:CYA oscillator. Power scaling and pulse compression was discussed.
