The localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) damps quickly in air due to the easy oxidation of copper atoms. Finding ways to retard the oxidation of CuNPs is critical for the applications based on the LSPR of CuNPs.

By oxidation of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in two ways: thermal oxidation (TO) in molecular oxygen and cool oxidation in oxygen plasma (i.e., oxygen plasma irradiation, OPI), the efficiency and mechanism of visible light-induced selective transform

This paper studies the effect of the configuration of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs)-TiO2 on the visible-light-driven photocatalytic activity (PA). Three configurations were fabricated by vacuum thermal deposition: configuration I, AgNPs deposited on t

Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) causes absorbance in the visible light range, and thus lowers the transmittance of Dielectric-Ag-dielectric (DAD) thin films. In this paper, the LSPR of AgNPs was successfully dam

Cu is a kind of inexpensive plasmonic material but the applications based on the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of Cu nanoparticles (CuNPs) are limited. This is because CuNPs normally synthesized by chemical methods are prone to oxidizati

The epitaxial growth of silver on copper benefits carriers' transport across interfaces and is thus important for opto-electronic applications and catalysis. Cu-Ag bimetallic nanoparticles have long been fabricated using chemical methods. The epitaxi

By studying oxidation of AgNPs (Ag nanoparticles) and decomposition of the produced silver oxide, we demonstrate that the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of AgNPs was damped by Ag
