Steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (SONFH) is a refractory disease induced by glucocorticoids. Marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) differentiate into multiple bone matrix cells and have been used as cell-based therapies to treat ONFH.
