When surface water infiltrates soil, the fine soil particles carried in water gradually clog soil pores and form a low-permeability soil layer. Clogging impacts the variations in pore water pressure heads in soil and effective hydraulic conductivity.

Climate change might potentially cause extreme weather events to become more frequent and intense. It could also enhance water scarcity and reduce food security. More efficient water management techniques are thus required to ensure a stable food sup

Darcy-scale capillary pressure is traditionally assumed to be constant. By contrast, a considerable gap exists between the measured and equilibrium capillary pressures when the same moisture saturation is considered with a high flow rate, and this ga

Studies have indicated that the streambed with the clogging layer affects the interaction between surface water and groundwater. When the streambed covered by a clogging layer, the decrease of the groundwater table can transform the state of stream-g

In recent years, more studies have been focusing on the transient behaviors of the movement of soil water and changes in matric potential, which require the measurement of the rapid changes in matric potential or capillary pressure. Because of the de

There is inseparable relation between moisture movement in soil and pore size distribution of porous media. Therefore, this study developed two one-dimensional vertical flow hydraulic conductivity functions which are based on Arya and Kosugi
