A hydrophobic metal–organic framework (MOF) showing high-κ behaviour was synthesized by the reaction of copper ions with 4,4′-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride (HFDPA). The unique, highly hydrophobic nature of the material protects
