Investigations on the structural and magnetic properties of the self-ion-implanted Fe and Ni films were reported. In the present study, as the result of the self-ion-implantation, only the influence of the lattice disorder was examined. An enhancemen

Magneto‐optical properties, along with the structural changes of Fe films induced by Tb‐, Bi‐, and Fe‐ion implantations, are presented. The polar Kerr rotation in a static magnetic field up to 13 kOe and the Faraday rotation in a pulse magnet

Bismuth ions were implanted into Ni and Fe thin films at an energy of 70 keV, and with doses between 1 × 1013 and 1 × 1017 ions/cm2 at room temperature. The structural and magnetic changes in the films were investigated. At doses below 1015 ions/cm

Domain patterns of single crystal films of iron, evaporated onto MgO cleavage surfaces, were observed by the Bitter technique. Epitaxy of them was perfect and the magneto-crystalline anisotropy constant K 1 of these films determined by torque measure

The wide band optical observation system of ME waves is developed by the use of a Kerr apparatus as a ME wave detector and a wide band microstrip line as a ME wave exciter. By means of this observation system, the strongly attenuated traveling magnet

We investigated the change of electrical resistance during ion implantation by in situ measurements. In the present study several metal ions and Ar+ ions have been implanted into Ni and Fe films. The ion energies were between 30 and 100 keV and the d

The decrease of the magnetic moment was measured of Dy + -ion implanted Ni films. With some He + backscattering observations, the observed decrease indicated that a paramagnetic Dy-Ni alloy layer was formed with the high dose implantation.

A non-contact observation of magnetostrictive vibrational displacements in a rod and a disk of polycrystal nickel is made by means of a laser interferometric technique. It is found this interferometric method is quite reliable. The magnetostrictive v
