A high density mark edge recording method on a phase change rewritable disk is reported. A carrier-to-noise ratio of 55 dB for a mark length of 0.55,μm is obtained by using a 680 nm, NA 0.6 head and a phase change rewritable disk. In mark edge recor

This paper reports a study of mark edge recording on the phase change rewritable disk. With the optical head using 680-nm laser diode and lens NA 0.6, 55 dB or higher carrier-to-noise ratio is obtained for signals whose recording mark length is 0.53

We have developed a 86mm MO disk on the basis of 3-D thermal analysis of the disk mold and optimization of the protective layer. This disk shows excellent initial characteristics and reliability. This indicates we can manufacture high performance dis

The concentration of one-electron donor centres increases markedly when γ-irradiated MgO is treated with sodium amide (NaNH2), followed by calcination at 500 °C for 2 h. The drastic increase in the concentration of one-electron donor centres is att

The physicochemical properties and catalytic activity of MgO doped with sodium compounds that are readily decomposed into sodium or sodium oxides have been examined. By calcination of the MgO doped with such sodium compounds as NaBH4, NaNH2 and NaNO3
