Comparison of RT Mossbauer spectra of samples prepared with low\(p_{O_2 } \) and high\(p_{O_2 } \) suggests incomplete oxygenation of low\(p_{O_2 } \) samples. At lowT, the magnetic hfs appears very gradually, without hf anomalies.

It is shown that in57Fe-doped LaCuO3−x, low temperature magnetic ordering probably proceeds through the very gradual freezing of copper clusters (perhaps composed of ordered Cu2+-Cu2+ pairs).
