In October 2023, a disease outbreak in pufferfish (Takifugu obscurus) farms in Zhongshan City, Guangdong, China, caused high mortality. Diseased fish (mean length: 15 ± 1 cm) exhibited swimming disorders, fin rot, hemorrhage, and an enlarged spleen.
