A big data approach is demonstrated for quality assurance of mode-locked pulses longer than $\sim 20$ ps. Real-time recordings of pulses sampled at 200 Gs/s are analysed to quantify pulse consistency within sequences of $\sim 50,000$ pulses. © 2020

Simultaneous wavelength tuning and Q-switching of a Yb:KGW laser using a single, electrothermally actuated MOEMS mirror is reported for the first time. A 15.4 nm tuning range is achieved at 2.06 kHz pulse repetition frequency.

Ti:sapphire lasers are used in many applications such as nonlinear-microscopy. However, Ti-sapphire laser systems are typically expensive and have a large form factor which consequently limits the availability and compactness of applications requirin

Vertical External Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VECSELs) VII.
In recent years, M Squared Lasers have successfully commercialized a range of mode-locked vertical external cavity surface emitting lasers (VECSELs) operating between 920-1050nm and producing picosecond-range pulses with average powers above 1W at pu

A 1.2-mm-diameter gold-silicon bimorph varifocal micromirror (VFM) has been designed and investigated for imaging applications. Several prototypes have been fabricated in a 10-μm-thick single-crystal silicon-on-insulator material. Controlled variati
Wavelength tuning of a Yb:KGW solid-state laser is presented using an electrothermally-actuated micromirror and a diffraction grating or dispersing prism. 27 nm and 7.5 nm tuning ranges are achieved using extracavity and intracavity configurations re

Vertical External Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VECSELs) VI.
In launching the Dragonfly, M Squared Lasers has successfully commercialized recent advances in mode-locked vertical external cavity surface emitting laser technologies operating between 920 nm – 1050 nm. This paper will describe the latest advance
A bimorph varifocal micromirror actuated thermoelectrically by a Peltier element is reported. The single-crystal silicon micromirror is 1.2 mm in diameter with a centered 1-mm-diameter gold coating for broadband reflection. The actuation principle is
