We have performed transport measurements on bridges patterned in misaligned thin films of the superconductor Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8. There is a c-axis component of current flow along the bridge, giving rise to hysteretic Josephson-like current-voltage curves.

In this paper, we describe a method to test and characterize accelerometers using an accurate position sensor and nonlinear Kalman filters. The method is designed to estimate parameters in nonlinear accelerometers and could be a simpler alternative t

We have developed a fabrication method using a focused ion beam microscope that allows us to produce SNS junctions in which thermally energetic electrons can enter the N region. We report on SQUIDs made with this technique which we are developing as

Measurements of the permittivity of a series of strontium titanate films of various thicknesses at frequencies from 100 to 900 GHz are reported. The permittivity was measured using Josephson junctions coupled to external resonators. The permittivity

We report a series of studies of grain boundary (GB) capacitance for YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7-/spl delta// (YBCO) films grown on SrTiO/sub 3/ (STO) bicrystal substrates. By varying the film thickness and the width of the track containing the GB, we

We have investigated resistively shunted direct-coupled high-T/sub c/ dc SQUID magnetometers with different inductances. At T=77 K, good quantitative agreement was observed between the measured maximum voltage modulation depth and calculated values b

We describe a new device in which the asymmetry parameter in a SQUID can be varied by a temperature difference between the electron temperature in the normal metal barriers of the superconductor/normal/superconductor junctions that form the SQUID. We
