A new laser-based flat panel display technology is described that is based on "massively parallel" applications of integrated optics. Results from the first 64/spl times/64 pixel array will be presented demonstrating the feasibility of the new concep

Stimulated emission at 15.88 and 15.95 μm has been obtained in 14NH3 utilizing two‐photon excitation. Total output energies on the order of 1 mJ have been observed in configurations which can be readily scaled to higher values. A discussion of the

Properties of the visible XeF (C→A) photolytically pumped laser system have been investigated in detail. The research covers four main areas: (1) absolute fluorescence intensities from the C and B states, (2) C→A fluorescence spectra as a functio

In response to the discovery of a nonlinear index of refraction (n/sub 2/ ) in Nd: glass laser media, experimenters have traditionally expanded the beam diameter (and reduced the intensity) to alleviate the self-focusing tendency. It is proposed here

The observation of electronic energy transfer to XeO(1Σ+) from xenon atoms excited by two‐photon absorption is reported. Electronically excited xenon atoms in the 5p56p configuration are produced through two‐photon excitation at 248.4 nm (KrF*).
