In situ and in vivo treatment plan verification and beam monitoring as well as dose control during heavy-ion tumour therapy can be performed in principle by measurements of range distributions of positron-emitting nuclei by means of PET techniques. F

The range distributions of positron emitters generated during the stopping process of relativistic light ions in organic matter exhibit a pronounced maximum near the range of the primary particles. The shape of this distribution can be qualitatively

The 252Cf neutron spectrum is measured at high energies with a miniature ionization chamber and two different NE-213 neutron detectors. The gamma-ray background and the main cosmic background cause...

In vivo dose localization in light ion tumour therapy can be performed by measuring the range distributions of beta+ active ions in tissue employing positron emission tomographic techniques. For this purpose a multiplicative iteration scheme for reco

The lifetimes of the 11/2- states in 145 63Eu82, 143 61Pm82, 141 59Pr82 and 139 57La52 and an additional lifetime in 143Pm were determined. The results are relevant for a discussion of the amount of mixing of one- and three-quasiparticle states.

Some series of granitic rock samples have been investigated by the aid of minicomputer spectral analysis after neutron activation. Maintaining an optimal relation between measurement time, precision of analysis, and a high sample through-put as well

Nuclear fission accompanied by long-range alpha particles has been investigated. Fission was induced by irradiating a natural uranium target with 13.5 MeV deuterons. The alpha energy and angular distributions are similar to those observed in spontane

The basaltic rocks of Costa Rica show a wide range of chemical compositions. By means of INAA measurements a correlation matrix has been derived and there is a positive correlation of the REE and Th with U, Hf, Ta and Rb in basaltic rocks and a negat

The construction principles of programs for controlling the CAMAC units are described. The structure of programs for recording two-dimensional spectra is considered.
