Chemical and spectroscopic (u.v., i.r., 1H and 13C n.m.r., and mass) data are reported which suggest that cochliodinol is 2,5-dihydroxy-3,6-di(5′-(2″-methylbut-Δ2″-ene)-indolyl-3′)-cyclo-hexadiene-1,4-dione (1a).
