We have enhanced extreme ultraviolet (XUV) harmonics around 90 eV in He using a combination of vacuum ultraviolet harmonics, generated in a Xe capillary, and the strong infrared (IR) laser pulse. With no changes in the IR input energy or the configur

We show that attosecond pulse trains are a natural tool to control strong field processes such as high-order harmonic generation. Coherently combining an attosecond pulse train with an IR driving field, we predict and experimentally confirm enhanceme

International audience; Theoretical studies of filamentation of ultra-short near-IR laser pulses propagating in a noble gas predict near single-cycle pulses with the intensity being clamped to the field ionization threshold. Experimental results show

We characterize the temporal structure of high-order harmonic radiation on both the femtosecond and attosecond time scales. The harmonic emission is characterized by mixed-color two-photon ionization with an infrared femtosecond laser using a Mach–

Filamentation of intense laser pulses in various gases is demonstrated to generate selectively high-order harmonics. Wavelength-dependent enhancement and extinction of specific harmonics is controlled by gas choice and variation of gas pressure.

We present a first experiment on attosecond pulse train (APT) assisted high-order harmonic generation, where the APT triggers the release of the electron into the continuum, which leads to an enhancement of harmonic yield.

Intense 5.7-fs pulses are generated through twofold filamentation in argon. Beyond beam quality and fluctuation measurements the system reliability is verified by scans of the initial laser chirp and gas pressures in the interaction chambers

Frequency-sheared and time-separated high harmonics were produced without spatial separation in the target gas by controlling the time-frequency properties of the driving field. Simulations show good agreement within the strong-field approximation.

We generated a nearly isolated high harmonic in several-centimeter long capillaries filled with argon and studied the dependence of the selectivity of high harmonic generation on the pressure and gas species.

Selective high-order harmonic generation by filamentation of an intense laser pulse in various gases is demonstrated and depending on gas choice and pressure, wavelength-dependent enhancement and extinction of specific harmonics is observed.
