The temperature influence on diode-pumped Tm(0.4 mol%):CaF2 laser performance and tunability was investigated down to cryogenic temperatures. Laser efficiency up to 21 % and wide, red-shifted, tuning range (1783-1915 nm) was demonstrated at 80 K.

Tetragonal xenotime-type yttrium orthophosphate (YPO4) Nd(3+) doped nanoparticles suitable for biomedical applications were prepared by microwave-hydrothermal treatment. We applied the energy transfer probing based on the analysis of kinetics of impu
