A convenient synthesis of 2-(2-methyl-1-(4-oxo-3,4-dihydrophthalazin-1-yl)-1H-indol-3-yl)acetic acid derivatives is described using a microwave-promoted multi-step SNAr reaction. The desired products were found to exhibit atropisomerism.
