In biomedical studies, the analysis of longitudinal data based on Gaussian assumptions is common practice. Nevertheless, more often than not, the observed responses are naturally skewed, rendering the use of symmetric mixed effects models inadequate.

A Bayesian nonparametric density estimator that changes smoothly in space is developed. The estimator is built using the predictive rule from a marginalized Polyatree, modified so that observations are spatially weighted by their distance from theloc

The three-class Youden index serves both as a measure of medical test accuracy and a criterion to choose the optimal pair of cutoff values for classifying subjects into three ordinal disease categories (e.g. no disease, mild disease, advanced disease

A novel nonparametric regression model is developed for evaluating the covariate-specific accuracy of a continuous biological marker. Accurately screening diseased from nondiseased individuals and correctly diagnosing disease stage are critically imp

Due to recent advances in technology, medical diagnosis data are becoming increasingly complex and, nowadays, applications where measurements are curves or images are ubiquitous. Motivated by the need of modeling a functional covariate on a metabolic
