The propagation of a diffracting light beam in a layered nonlinear absorbing medium (in which absorbing layers alternate with transparent layers) is analyzed for the case of realization of multidomain longitudinal moving and stationary structures in

It is shown that several longitudinal domains of high absorption are formed under certain conditions in an optically bistable element based on increasing absorption under the action of a hyper-Gaussian light beam. This is caused both by the transform

The dynamics of switching waves in optically bistable systems on the basis of growing absorption is analyzed by quasi-optical description. A new scenario of kinks moving towards the optical beam under the action of a tubular optical beam is described

Using an exact solution of Maxwell's equations and the relativistic equations of motion for electrons and positrons we demonstrate the existence of an electromagnetic wave with a frequency considerably lower that the electron cyclotron frequency. For

The possibility of formation of a basic (stationary) and an additional (moving) high-absorption domain in an optically bistable system, based on high absorption, is demonstrated. A semiconductor with the absorption coefficient dependent on the concen

The possibility of formation of several longitudinal kinks under the action of a collimated Gaussian light beam in a medium with absorptive cavityless optical bistability is demonstrated to be possible. The beam is essentially affected by diffraction

We introduce multipole soliton complexes in optical lattices induced by nondiffracting parabolic beams. Despite the symmetry-breaking dictated by the curvature of the lattice channels, we find that complex, asymmetric higher-order states can be stabl
