Two groups of 15 patients each, with American Society of Anesthetists’ (ASA) physical status I or II, were administered two single bolus doses of propofol 2 mg/kg or thiopental 4 mg/kg, followed by pipecuronium 0.08 mg/kg. Neuromuscular block was s

The effect of bolus administration of high-dose vecuronium (0.17 mg/kg) on neuromuscular blockade in terms of onset time, duration of action and recovery rate were studied in 30 patients anaesthetised with either propofol 2 mg/kg or thiopental 5 mg/k

Most of the drugs actually used in general anaesthesia resemble high stere-ospecifity, receptors affinity, short duration of action, short recovery time, rapid distribution and redistribution in high degradation tissues. A short sleeping time and mus
