In order to increase the productivity of the furnace and ensure better melting, it is necessary to exclude the energy-consuming, endothermic process of decomposition of magnesite beyond the limits of the melting furnace.

In smelting magnesite in a furnace with a current-conducting bottom, the operation of igniting the furnace is eliminated and this increases by 3.4% the productivity of a furnace operating on fired magnesite.
