A study was made of the viscosity of casting systems based on niobium carbide powders of various degrees of dispersion and containing various amounts of binder (paraffin) and of the effect of temperature on this property.

The greatest high-temperature stability is possessed by cermets made of mixtures of ZrC and ZrO2, since they are slightly better than cermets made of TiC and ZrO2 and also NbC and ZrO2 mixtures.
