Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] is a risk factor for coronary artery disease. It is composed of lipids and apolipoprotein(a) [apo(a)] linked to apolipoprotein B (apoB) by a disulphide bond between Cys-4057 of apo(a)'s kringle 36 and possibly Cys-3734 of apoB.

Lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)] is a risk factor for coronary artery disease. It is characterized by apolipoprotein (a) [apo(a)] disulphide linked to apolipoprotein B (apoB), by Cys4057 of apo(a) and possibly Cys3734 of apoB. We call this the covalent apo(a)

Recombinant DNA-derived apolipoprotein(a) was used to demonstrate that the apo(a) moiety of lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) is responsible for the binding of Lp(a) to other apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins (apoB-Lp) including LDL2, a subclass of low d

In this report, we have summarized our recent studies on lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) and its interactions with apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins (ApoB-Lp). These findings implicate the kringle-4-like domains of Apo(a) in the binding of Lp(a) to oth

We evaluated the in vivo antioxidant activity of genistein in a mouse model of singlet oxygen-induced cerebral stroke. Cerebral stroke was induced in male BALB/c mice through extensive microvessel damage caused by photoactivated rose bengal dye. The

Based on our studies showing an interaction between Lp(a) and ApoB-containing lipoproteins (ApoB-Lp) and the observation that the interacting ApoB-Lp were somewhat enriched in triglyceride (TG), we have initiated studies to explore this potential rel

Studies were undertaken to investigate potential interactions among plasma lipoproteins. Techniques used were low density lipoprotein2 (LDL2)-ligand blotting of plasma lipoproteins separated by nondenaturing 2.5-15% gradient gel electrophoresis, liga
