Pseudomonas sp. US1 ex entrapped in calcium alginate could dehalogenate a mixture of isomeric monochlorobenzoates and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid. Rates of dehalogenation by the immobilized cells were found to be comparable to those of free cells.
