Hemocytes and hemolymph of snail Lymnaea stagnalis were analyzed to detect phenoloxidase (PO) activity. No PO activity was found in the hemocytes of snails. A low level of PO activity (by DOPA oxidation) was registered in the hemolymph without cells.
