An extensive study of a novel room-temperature mid-infrared Ce3+-doped Ge20Sb10Ga5Se65 glass laser is reported. An influence of output-coupler transmission on laser efficiency and emission spectra is investigated. Pumped by a pulsed Fe:ZnSe laser at

We demonstrate 45-55 mW average output power at 2.3 microns in Tm3+-doped tellurite glass fiber laser pumped by a 794 nm multimode laser diode. To the best of our knowledge it is the highest 2.3 micron output from a fiber laser, and it is already a p

4.9–5.5 µm laser oscillations were observed in high-purity bulk terbium-doped Ge36Ga5Se59 glass pumped by pulsed 2.93 µm Er:YAG laser. This is the first evidence of laser action corresponding to 7F5–7F6 transition of Tb3+ ions and of mid-infrar

The high-purity 700 ppmw Sm3+-doped Ga2.2Ge26.5As14.6Se56.7 glass is prepared and investigated. The glass has an extra-low content of impurities, a wide transmission range (0.9–16 μm), a high glass transition temperature (330 °C), and high stabil
