We study the properness of the functor of F-trivial bundles by relating it to the base change question for the fundamental group scheme of Nori.

We prove a version of an effective Frobenius restriction theorem for semistable bundles in characteristic p. The main novelty is in restricting the bundle to the p-fold thickening of a hypersurface section. The base variety is G/P, an abelian variety

We classify principalG-bundles on the projective line over an arbitrary fieldk of characteristic ≠ 2 or 3, whereG is a reductive group. If such a bundle is trivial at ak-rational point, then the structure group can be reduced to a maximal torus.
