Photoelectron circular dichroism (PECD), the forward–backward asymmetry of the photoelectron angular distribution when ionizing randomly oriented chiral molecules with circularly polarized light, is an established method to investigate chiral prope

Directly contrasting ultrafast excited-state dynamics in the gas and liquid phases is crucial to understanding the influence of complex environments. Previous studies have often relied on different spectroscopic observables, rendering direct comparis

Single-photon ionisation of enantiopure methyl p-tolyl sulfoxide by circularly polarised light at 133 nm shows remarkably strong photoelectron circular dichroism (PECD), which has been measured in a velocity-map-imaging spectrometer. Both enantiomers

Understanding the chirality of molecular reaction pathways is essential for a broad range of fundamental and applied sciences. However, the current ability to probe chirality on the time scale of primary processes underlying chemical reactions remain

We further develop a strategy for a line-by-line assignment of complex high-resolution overtone spectra. A search for specific line patterns in the spectrum allows to identify upper rotational states by extending the concept of ground state combinati

We demonstrate dynamics in the electronic ground state of a chiral molecule via VUV-ionisation in a velocity-map-imaging spectrometer. The dynamics are simplified by measuring time-resolved PECD, which is sensitive to a subset of nuclear motions.

The paper presents new high-resolution spectroscopic data for the 1.5 µm region of ammonia. All measurements have been taken in the slit-jet supersonic expansion leading to effective rotational cooling and thus facilitating significant simplificatio

We demonstrate femtosecond time–resolved soft–X–ray absorption spectroscopy of liquid samples by combining a sub–micrometer–thin flat liquid jet with a high–harmonic table–top source covering the entire water-window range (284 - 538 eV)
