Unexpected results have been seen in multiple papers involving spread spectrum time domain reflectometry (SSTDR) measurements on twin lead cables with one line containing a fault. A small portion of the signal is able to transmit past the fault, refl

This paper proposes a new antenna remoting system for ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID). The system consists of a central baseband controller and a remote antenna subsystem, which are connected using twisted-pair cable.

Electric fences are usually effective in deterring terrestrial wild animals. However, they can prove inefficient in case of scansorial animals such as martens and raccoons, which can touch the electric fence without being grounded, thus not experienc

Mathematical modeling of heat transfer processes inside a cable channel taking into account natural convection and radiation between the cable surface and tube and the loss in shields was carried out. An underground cable channel consisting of eight

The effect of a shield wire, which is a bare conductor buried above an insulated metallic cable, on lightning-induced currents on the cable has been studied using the three-dimensional (3-D) finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. In the 3-D FDT

Cross-bonded cable models are compared against their versions with normal-bonding (no-bonding) for propagation characteristics, frequency and time domain responses. Contrary to no-bonding cables, coaxial modes cannot propagate in cross-bonded cables.

The building blocks of the equivalent circuit of a complex grounding system are individual equivalent circuits of all system elements, which are represented with their equivalent $\pi$ circuits. In this paper, we focus on underground single-core cabl

In this paper, we present general considerations for the application of the multiconductor transmission-line theory for simulating shielded spacecraft harness cable assemblies. Some of the practical issues that occur in the modeling process of variou

In our previous work, we analyzed an unusual behavior of an HV cable at short circuit when the shield at the power supply side was grounded, and at the load side it was floating. It was shown that the transmission line model is no longer applicable.
