We have shown that the flow velocity of Shirase Glacier can be estimated by applying the offset tracking method to the amplitude images derived from the phased array type L-band synthetic aperture radar type-2 (PALSAR-2) onboard the Advanced Land Obs

The Shirase Glacier, one of the fastest-flowing outlet glaciers in East Antarctica, flows into a bay that is usually covered by landfast sea ice. Although the presence of landfast ice is considered to stabilize glacier tongue, quantitative assessment

To derive shallow water bathymetry for coastal areas, a common approach is to deploy a scanning airborne bathymetric light detection and ranging (LiDAR) system or a shipborne echosounder for ground surveys. However, recent advancements in satellite r

Shallow water bathymetry is important for nautical navigation to avoid stranding, as well as for the scientific simulation of high tide and high waves in coastal areas. Although many studies have been conducted on satellite derived bathymetry (SDB),

Shirase Glacier is known to one of the fastest ice streams in Antarctic glaciers, and it is important to monitor the flow velocity of the glacier because of understanding the discharge of ice mass in Antarctica. The authors have shown that the flow v
