The volume of research on distributed optical fibre vibration sensors, also known as distributed acoustic sensors (DAS), has increased substantially in the recent years. DAS systems owe their rising popularity to their capability of mapping vibration
A novel subsea cable condition monitoring technique based on embedded optical fiber inside the cable is demonstrated. It is shown that a distributed optical fiber vibration sensor can be used to map dynamic strains all along the cable simultaneously.

Existing sensing technologies lack the ability to spatially resolve multiple sources of water or humidity without relying on the deployment of numerous inline sensors. A fully distributed approach has the potential to unlock a diverse range of applic

A distributed vibration sensor is used to measure vibrations along a subsea power cable. It is shown that the DVS is capable of mapping vibrations along a 10km-long subsea power cable with perturbation frequencies as low as 0.1Hz.

A distributed optical fibre acoustic sensor is numerically modelled. To increase the flexibility of the model, the building blocks of the sensing system are modelled separately and later combined to form the numerical model. This approach is adopted

A Distributed Vibration Sensor Based on Phase-Sensitive OTDR is numerically modeled. The advantage of modeling the building blocks of the sensor individually and combining the blocks to analyse the behavior of the sensing system is discussed. It is s
