Magnetoresistive properties of a Ni–Fe/Al–oxide/Co junction with various junction area between 3.5×3.5 μm2 and 85×85 μm2 have been studied. Antiferromagnetic interlayer exchange coupling between magnetic electrodes, which was predicted theore

A guideline for the optimum design of the soft adjacent layer (SAL)-biased giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensors, which are a promising MR head for use at high areal densities, with electromagnetic field computation based on a 2D finite element method

Thin metal evaporated (ME) tape with low remanence-thickness product (Mrδ), high coercivity (Hc) and low noise was designed to match a magnetoresistive (MR) head. This article focuses on the high density recording performance of a shielded MR head/t

Linearity of the magnetoresistive (MR) transfer curve for an unshielded spin-valve (SV) sensor was studied. When the NiFe free layer thickness is greater than 5.0 nm, the anisotropic magnetoresistive (AMR) effect in it may overlap the giant magnetore

In this work, the performance of a narrow track MR head/MP tape recording system was evaluated focusing on the MR head saturation. Readback density of 0.65 Gbits/in/sup 2/ was attained with reasonable SNR of 18.2 dB using a 5 /spl mu/m trackwidth MR

Sputtered FeCoNi(Cu)/Cu giant magnetoresistance multilayers on glass show growth-induced uniaxial in-plane magnetic anisotropy. We controlled the anisotropy and made multilayers with various anisotropy and antiferromagnetic coupling fields. A multila

The origin of growth induced in-plane magnetic anisotropy in sputtered FeCoNi Cu multilayers was investigated. The anisotropy exceeded 10 Oe when the multilayers were prepared on a substrate which successively rotated over each gun. This was caused b
