Using silica as the precursor, and methyltrimethoxysilane and dimethyldimethoxysilane as the silicon sources, a super-flexible hydrophobic lipophilic gel solid was prepared via hydrolysis, drying, solvent replacement, and atmospheric-pressure drying.
