Josephson junctions, comprised of semiconducting nanowires, can be used to design qubit architectures but for the successful application, it is necessary to study their intrinsic excitation spectrum. Here, the authors adapt a flip-chip method to real

We fabricated high-quality c-axis-oriented epitaxial YBa2Cu3O7−x films with 15% of the yttrium atoms replaced by terbium (YTBCO) and studied their electrical properties. The Tb substitution reduced the charge carrier density, resulting in increased

We present a symmetrization routine that optimizes and eases the analysis of imperfect, experimental data featuring the anomalous Hall hysteresis. This technique can be transferred to any hysteresis with (point-)symmetric behavior. The implementation

Topological surface states of three-dimensional topological insulators exhibit distinct magnetotransport properties. Here, a steering effect is demonstrated for three-terminal junctions, which is driven by an in-plane magnetic field and makes the jun

A deep understanding of low-temperature transport properties of GeTe material remains a challenge. Here, the authors investigate phase-coherent phenomena in GeTe nanowire structures where the occurrence of magnetic flux-periodic oscillations come fro

In this paper, in an in situ prepared three-terminal Josephson junction based on the topological insulator Bi4Te3 and the superconductor Nb the transport properties are studied. The differential resistance maps as a function of two bias currents reve

The persistent spin helix (PSH) is the stable spin state protected by SU(2) spin-rotation symmetry. Long-lived spin textures, referred to as helical and homogeneous spin modes, emerge as a result of this symmetry. These textures are potential candida

Three-dimensional topological insulators (TIs) host helical Dirac surface states at the interface with a trivial insulator. In quasi-one-dimensional TI nanoribbon structures the wave function of surface charges extends phase-coherently along the p

The d-wave symmetry of the order parameter with zero energy gap in nodal directions stands in the way of using high-temperature superconductors for quantum applications. We investigate the symmetry of the order parameter in ultra-thin YBa2Cu3O7-x (YB

Semiconductor nanowires have emerged as versatile components in superconducting hybrid devices for Majorana physics and quantum computing. The transport properties of nanowires can be tuned either by field-effect or doping. We investigated a series o
