In total, 14 limestone samples, drilled in the vertical and horizontal directions from a depth >3 km, are analyzed to understand the correlation between static (operating at in-situ strain levels) and dynamic (at a sound wave strain level) Young’s

The atmospheric lifetime of CF3CN is determined by the reaction with OH (6.9 years) which leads to the formation of COF2 in a yield of (96 ± 8)%. The global warming potential of 1030 for CF3CN is estimated for the 100 year time horizon.

A comprehensive experimental study of the atmospheric chemistry of (Z)- and (E)-CHClCHCl. The compounds have short atmospheric lifetimes, low photochemical ozone creation potentials, and show a substantial Cl-elimination pathway for the OH-adduct.

Coherence is one of the most important phenomena in ultrafast sciences. We give our perspective on the terminology, observation, and preservation of coherence in photophysical processes with some glimpses to the past and some looking-head to what may

The precipitation (sagging) of solids from weighting materials, such as hematite is a challenge in high-pressure high-temperature (HP/HT) applications of drilling fluids. The result is inconsistent properties of the mud and poor fluid stability. This

The mechanical nature of fluid-substitution models has always been recognized as a major cause of their limited predictive power. For instance, saturants are typically treated as simple fluids characterized only by their densities, viscosities, and m

Processes that proceed in femtoseconds are usually referred to as being ultrafast, and they are investigated in experiments that involve laser pulses with femtosecond duration in so-called pump probe schemes, where a light pulse triggers a molecular

Excited-state chemistry lacks generalized symmetry rules. With many femtochemistry studies focused on individual cases, it is hard to build up the same level of chemical intuition for excited states as that for ground states. Here, we unravel the deg
