New information has been obtained on excited states of the neutron-rich boron isotopes 14B, 15B and 16B, using the reactions 12C(14C,12N)14B, 13C(14C,12N)15B and 14C(14C,12N)16B at about 24 MeV/A. The mass excess of 16B has been measured for the firs

Binary reactions using neutron-rich beams (and targets) give the best approach to study the level structure of exotic nuclei. Systematic cross section dependencies of multi-step transfer reactions are discussed. Some rections, for example the proton-

A considerable number of experiments is nowadays devoted to the study of "exotic nuclei", mainly by using secondary beams produced by high energy fragmentation of heavier nuclei. In these eases mainly the properties of the bound nuclei (usually groun

The 14C-beam has been used at HMI to study light neutron-rich nuclei with multi-nucleon transfer reactions. Spectroscopic results about the T=3 nuclei 10He, 14Be and 16B have been obtained, but also 11Li, 7He and the 3n-system have been investigated.

The mass of 10He has been measured with the double charge exchange reaction 10Be(14C, 14O) 10He at E Lab = 334.4 MeV and a mass excess M.E. = 48.81 (7) MeV is obtained. It follows that 10He is particle unstable against 2 n - emission by S 2n = −1.0

Transfer reactions are verified to be an important tool for the study of light unbound nuclei. We have studied the proton-rich nuclei 9 C and 15 F respectively through the 10 B( 14 N, 15 C) 9 C and 16 O( 14 N, 15 C) 15 F reactions. Resonance energies

A spectroscopic study of the proton-rich, particle unstable nucleus 11N has been performed using the multi-nucleon transfer reaction 12C(14N,15C)11N at 30 AMeV incident energy at GANIL. Levels of 11N are observed as well defined resonances in the spe

The 10Be(12C,14O)8He-reaction has been used to study the levels of 8He. In addition to the known excited state of 8He at Ex = 3.6 MeV, with Jπ = 2+, three additional states were found at excitation energies of 4.54(25) MeV, 6.03(10) MeV and 7.16(4)

The10Be(14C,13N)11 Lireaction and the14C(14C,17F)11 Lireaction have been used to study the levels of11Li. Three excited states have been found, in both reactions, at excitation energies of 2.47(7) MeV, 4.85(7) MeVand 6.22(8) MeV
