Non-dipole effects in strong-field photoelectron momentum spectra have been revealed experimentally [C.T.L. Smeenk et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 106, 193002 (2011); A. Ludwig et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 113, 243001 (2014)]. For certain laser parameters and p

Photoelectron spectra obtained from the ab initio solution of the time-dependent Schr\"odinger equation can be in striking disagreement with predictions by the strong-field approximation (SFA) not only at low energy but also around twice the ponderom

The strong field approximation (SFA) formulated in terms of so-called "quantum orbits" led to much insight into intense-laser driven ionization dynamics. In plain SFA, the emitted electron is treated as a free electron in the laser field alone. Howev

IceCube, a future km^3 antarctic ice Cherenkov neutrino telescope, is highly sensitive to a galactic supernova (SN) neutrino burst. The Cherenkov light corresponding to the total energy deposited by the SN neutrinos in the ice can be measured relativ

Transporting nu_mu and nu_tau in a supernova (SN) core involves several processes that have been neglected in traditional simulations. Based on a Monte Carlo study we find that the flavor-dependent spectral differences are much smaller than is often

We show that in a supernova core the annihilation process nu_e nu_e-bar -> nu_{mu,tau} nu_{mu,tau}-bar is always more important than the traditional reaction e^+ e^- -> nu_{mu,tau} nu_{mu,tau}-bar as a source for muon and tau neutrino pairs. We study

The neutrino flux and spectra formation in a supernova core is studied by using a Monte Carlo code. The dominant opacity contribution for nu_mu and nu_tau is elastic scattering on nucleons. In addition we switch on or off a variety of processes which

Using a previously established effective Lagrangian model we describe anti-kaon induced reactions on the nucleon. The dominantly contributing channels in the cm-energy region from threshold up to 1.72 GeV are included (K N, \pi \Sigma, \pi \Lambda).
