The quality of images and videos is usually examined with well established subjective tests or instrumental models. These often target content transmitted over the internet, such as streaming or videoconferences and address the human preferential exp

This paper proposes a novel strategy for depth video denoising in RGBD camera systems. Depth map sequences obtained by state-of-the-art Time-of-Flight sensors suffer from high temporal noise. Hence, all high-level RGB video renderings based on the ac

Denoising of Photographic Images and Video ISBN: 9783319960289
Denoising is a traditional but still challenging problem in signal processing. To reduce the noise in images and videos captured by a digital sensor receives more and more attention also due to the shrinking size of today’s image sensors and strivi

The development and tuning of denoising algorithms is usually based on readily processed test images that are artificially degraded with additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). While AWGN allows us to easily generate test data in a repeatable manner, i

Three-Dimensional Image Processing, Measurement (3DIPM), and Applications
This paper presents a new pre-processing algorithm for Time-of-Flight (TOF) depth map denoising. Typically, denoising algorithms use the raw depth map as it comes from the sensor. Systematic artifacts due to the measurement principle are not taken in
