We study the problem of distilling knowledge from a large deep teacher network to a much smaller student network for the task of road marking segmentation. In this work, we explore a novel knowledge distillation (KD) approach that can transfer 'knowl

Deep learning approaches have achieved great success in addressing the problem of optical flow estimation. The keys to success lie in the use of cost volume and coarse-to-fine flow inference. However, the matching problem becomes ill-posed when parti

FlowNet2, the state-of-the-art convolutional neural network (CNN) for optical flow estimation, requires over 160M parameters to achieve accurate flow estimation. In this paper we present an alternative network that outperforms FlowNet2 on the challen

Determining the spatial motion of a moving camera from a video is a classical problem in computer vision. The difficulty of this problem is that the flow pattern directly observable in the video is generally not the complete flow pattern induced by t

In this paper, we explore how a wide field-of-view imaging system that consists of a number of cameras in a network arranged to approximate a spherical eye can reduce the complexity of estimating camera motion. Depth map of the imaged scene can be re

Depth boundaries often lose sharpness when upsampling from low-resolution (LR) depth maps especially at large upscaling factors. We present a new method to address the problem of depth map super resolution in which a high-resolution (HR) depth map is

A two-step phase shift profilometry method (2-step PSP) with prefiltering and postfiltering stages is proposed to reconstruct the 3-D profile of solder paste. Two sinusoidal patterns which are pi-out-of-phase are used in the 3-D reconstruction. The n
