The present work investigates the aeration pressurization effect by monitoring the airflow (Qg) variations during its injection at various diffuser arrangements in an activated sludge (AS) system and its impact on the overall energy-saving strategy.

The goal of this paper is to build a relationship for the prediction of (α)-factor based on the Taguchi approach. The tests have been carried out in an experimental pilot that comprises a rectangular tank of 84.6 L, fed with synthetic wastewater in
