The authors demonstrate an all-optical method to control the polarization of light. Harnessing the Kerr nonlinearity in an optical resonator, this enables precise polarization control in photonic circuits.

We demonstrate an all-optical polarization controller in a high-finesse Fabry-Pérot microresonator. Kerr-nonlinearity-induced symmetry breaking splits linear polarized input light into left- and right-circular polarized components, enabling all-opti

Birefringence - the difference in refractive index for othogonally polarized light - can manifest in the linear coupling between orthogonal modes in a given polarization basis. Inside of a resonator, birefringence leads to different resonance frequen

We demonstrate that lithium niobate integrated photonics allows for reliable nonlinear applications under continuous femtosecond laser irradiation. Over >100 hours, a stable octave-spanning supercontinuum plus second-harmonic generation allows for di

Kerr-effect-induced changes of the polarization state of light are well known in pulsed laser systems. An example is nonlinear polarization rotation, which is critical to the operation of many types of mode-locked lasers. Here, we demonstrate that th

Optical frequency comb spectrometry has become one of the leading fields devising new ways to investigate molecular structure and characterize optical elements due to its advantage in speed and accuracy. In this work we demonstrate the first dual-com
