Summary: Biallelic mutations in the gene that encodes the enzyme N-glycanase 1 (NGLY1) cause a rare disease with multi-symptomatic features including developmental delay, intellectual disability, neuropathy, and seizures. NGLY1’s activity in human

Niemann-Pick type C1 disease is most commonly caused by the allele NPC1 I1061T, which is misfolded in the ER and rapidly degraded by the ubiquitin proteasome system. Here the authors show that the I1061T mutant is also degraded by ER-phagy.

A hallmark of aging is an imbalance between production and clearance of reactive oxygen species and increased levels of oxidatively damaged biomolecules. Herein, we demonstrate that splenic and nodal antigen-presenting cells purified from aging mice

The activation of mostly quiescent haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) is a prerequisite for life-long production of blood cells1. This process requires major molecular adaptations to allow HSCs to meet the regulatory and metabolic requirements for cell
