The cationic 34-electron phosphido-bridged binuclear complexes (M{sub 2}(CO){sub 8}(PPh{sub 2}))BF{sub 4} (1, M = Fe; 2, M = Ru) have been synthesized and their electrophilic reactivities explored. An X-ray analysis of 2 has revealed it to be a struc
